I find it humorous(in a sad, pathetic kind of way) when I see a fake of a coin that lists the proper weight and silver content of a genuine example right on the coin

I think that happens because people are lazy or do not own a decent scale. The weights in Krause and on line are too easy to simply copy.

There were a couple different factors in play while purchasing these, that's why I didn't bother checking if they were real. One factor was he was my friend and insisted they were real. Even though $5 a coin would be a rip to him if they were real, that is the price he insisted not me. I respect your views on being honest, that's commendable. In the long run you will be getting better deal with karma and such.

No haha I took the pics with a storm coming in and then the flash on my phone quit working because the battery was dying.

Well I just won a $5 copy coin on ebay and I'm pretty happy about it! I mean it costs more to get a Happy-meal at Mc-D's of a coffee at S-bucks. And now you have a study coin.....how they made it, what it is made of, where it came from, etc.... And when you are done they make great grab bag or door prizes at the next coin show/club meeting. How about donateing it to a teacher so they can show kids coins that may have been used in the US/Mexico. Have some fun with it..... leave it in the coin slot of the next soda machine or pay phone you pass.....(if you can find one!).

Some very experienced dealers have been taken when buying coins on line. I met a guy who was taken for over $5000 when he bought what was supposed to be one ounce gold (.999) coins from someone in Korea. Turns out that they were gold plated and he was stuck with them.
