Bluemule,
I am truly sorry if I offended. I certainly didn't intend to.
I was speaking from personal experience. If I have to head up towards Hattiesburg, which I do occasionally have to do, I have found that wearing a ball cap over my yarlmulke means I probably won't get stopped, vs. I will almost certainly get stopped without the ball cap. And, for the record, I am just as likely to be pulled over by an African-American officer as I am by an Anglo officer.
I don't presume that the officers involved are picking on me. I figure they're not. I just look different... I know people from several other backgrounds that have similar issues in Southern Mississippi. That's life. I was just cracking a joke about it. Once again I do apologize, because it was inadvertently in poor taste.
I would like to point out though, I am a Southerner too... :)
