so I am interested in buying rolls of a few different coins, one of them being the 2009 p Jefferson nickel roll. I see prices all over. first off, what is the difference between a bank roll and the rolls from the mint? were bank rolls already circulated? and what is a good price for these mints rolls and where could I buy them? thanks for your help! I want rolls of pennies, dimes, and nickels from 2009 and am not sure where to purchase.

I just bought four single coins from ebay at $1.75 each. The coin shop I go to wanted $3 each. I have seen rolls on ebay for $14 which seems OK I guess. You can luck out and find a bank roll that is uncirculated at a bank or get them on ebay but make sure it says uncirculated bank roll. I have seen some ebay ads that say circulated rolls so make sure. I don't think there is any difference with the Mint rolls as to condition but they do have a different paper wrapper on them and cost a premium.

2009 nickels and dimes were not sold directly by the Mint except in Mint and Proof Sets. The four 2009 Bicentennial Lincolns were sold in P&D roll sets by the Mint. If you want the nickels and dimes, bank rolls will be the only way to get them.

is the Federal Reserve the only location that uses NF String & Son wrappers? some sellers claim this.

The Fed does not even wrap coins so there is no truth to that at all. The Fed only ships the massive Ballistic Bags containing several hundred thousand coins to the armored carrier services, they are the ones responsible for rolling coins and distributing them to banks.
