I suspect that, eventually, all coins will be graded by computer with a human in the loop for error checking only. That would allow for fractional grades (i.e. MS 64.72) and, also, a very unambiguous and systematic approach that relies on high resolution image processing/analysis to find defects, assess luster, and detect any doctoring.
