Can someone show me a place where I can find a picture comparison of the 1979-S type 1 and type 2 lincoln cents?
I have one of the 1979-S lincolns but I don't know which type it is.

Thanks

The 1979 mintmarks are easy, the 1981 mintmarks are a bit tougher. For 1979, the Type I mintmark is an almost shapeless blob while the Type II mintmark is a clearly defined S. For 1981, the Type I mintmark is the the same as the 1979 Type II while the Type II is more rounded and has larger serifs.
