biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 01/19/2011 1:00 pm The 1979 mintmarks are easy, the 1981 mintmarks are a bit tougher. For 1979, the Type I mintmark is an almost shapeless blob while the Type II mintmark is a clearly defined S. For 1981, the Type I mintmark is the the same as the 1979 Type II while the Type II is more rounded and has larger serifs. Report this Post to the Staff
