Does anybody have a general idea of the value of my previously posted coin? I'll most likely not sell it and if it's worth a couple of bucks I'll be more than happy.

Sander, interesting how the doubling looks so obvious on the star, but less so on the letters nearby. Shnug, that's a very nice DDO! The only doubled dies with established values I know of are US + Philippines, Canada, and Australia coins. I'm unsure on the rarity/premium for a Mexico doubled die--it all depends on how many collectors are looking for one.

@Shnug.. Was a really nice one.. I think if you find the right person it certainly have some premium.. Sometimes I wonder if the Double dies I find in bulk lots have some premium? I really don't know, but for now I enjoy searching bulk lot of coins and picking out the errors.. that's priceless Here another one I found minutes ago, 5 Stotinki 1962 Bulgaria, this time only the lion.. First photo how it should be and second the double die..

That's an obvious one! I like how there is an extra bit of the lion's mane. It also shows how parts can be doubled, such as the legs, but without any obvious "notching".

Quote: That's an obvious one! I like how there is an extra bit of the lion's mane. I like this one also, better than the 2 Stotinki.. (I found a really nice double sided die clash also in the 1962 serie, this time 10 Stotinki.. I make a new topic in the error section for that one.. )

Shnug... incredible 20 centavos DD. A guy named Carlos Amaya has catalogued extensively these varieties in "Illustrated Price Guide of Modern Mexico Coins 1905-to date". Unfortunately the price guide is not readily available. He has listed 8 varieties of DD for the 1978 20 centavos. In VF prices range from 3 to 10 dollars depending of the DD. Yours is dramatic so I would think at least 10 dollars, in ebay probably a lot more.

Another Bulgarian from 1962, this time the 1 Lev.. This time the star and the lion. Have an extra mane and some of his legs. Think I gonna try to make a nice year set with double dies..

Sander, very good spot! You pointed out the clear diagnostics of a doubled die.
