Hi,

I have a KM# 10 10 FILS, 1955 (AH1374) coin from Jordan. The kp 2008 book says the weight should be 5.9g but coin actually weighs 9.96g. Also the book says the diameter should be 25mm when the coins actual diameter is 28mm.

I don't have another coin to compare it with. Could it be a piefort? Or is the book wrong? (I checked a 2005 kp SCOFWC book and the coin pictured measured 28mm. My newer 2008 books' picture measures 25mm.

All help will be appreciated.

Joe

Hi, Joe,
The 28 mm diameter is correct. The Krause is ridden with errors. In the following editions they correct some but then make new ones. By the way a piedfort would be thicker than the regular coin but it wouldn't have a different diameter.

Thank you very much for the info. I went ahead and added it to my site with a note that the coin is different from what the book states.

Thanks again,

Joe
