Not sure if this should have gone straight to the Medal Forum, but I know nothing of this medal save what is on it.

It is 43mm.

I have "googled" Pulleng to no avail. I assume it is English, but maybe Irish?

Any idea of value, designer, mint?

Pinches of London were the manufacturers of this medal. It's definitely English (RHS is the Royal Horticultural Society under the patronage of the Royal Family).

Perhaps the Ministry of Labour had a lot of members of the RHS and so had their own branch?

Thai-vic, thanks for the info and link. I looked for other Pinches medals. Unless they are silver, they seem to have little value. Not only will I likely keep this, I might start collecting their work as it is inexpensive, but beautiful.

Here's a blank of your medal for sale: http://us.ebid.net/for-sale/rhs-roy...32435426.htm

Mr. Pulleng though, seems an interesting fellow... It appears he was a Reverend and missionary (China)in his early years, and lived in a very fashionable neighborhood. Here's a link. He lived at #1. http://www.machadoink.com/Dane%20Jo...0Terrace.htm

JMerrick, great research. It looks like he wrote a book about his missionary work. It looks like it is a rare surname too. I never had any luck before.
