I didn't get too specific on the error because I don't know what to call it.

First off I am using my droid camera, I don't own a nice camera.

This was given to my stepdad a while back in an envelope for attending a seminar.

I have weighed it, it is 2.7 grams on my scale.

It looks pretty clean minus 1 or 2 fine fine scratches. The date, motto and even the wheat ears have no scratches or ware.

Here is what I think some errors are:

There is a nice chunk out of left wheat ear (middle of ear).

The "E" on "STATES" seems like the die was filled in on the bottom portion of the "E" so it looks like an "F" now.

My biggest concern is: A very faint horizontal line running perfectly across the obverse. This line runs evenly across. It does not run through LIBERTY or the rim. Any thoughts?

"ONE" on the back has a line running from the top of "O" to the bottom of "N".

The "4" looks like it DD's east but it also looks like a mound almost. Same for the 3, (the south east side) looks like the 4.

One last thing, maybe someone can give me a rough grade this?

Here are the best photos I can get right now:

the back looks like a die struck error.
debris was between the coin and die when struck..... impressionleft in the coin

I say this becuase the zinc is not missing and steel not showing.

HOWEVER alot of the 43 steel cents were replated and sold as " war coins "
where you get a steel cent , a war nickle in a plactic case with a history write up attached

I'm guessing something was stuck on the reverse die, thus creating the craters. But where did the displaced metal go?

I'm a welder, and the seam reminds me of seams I see in sheet metal.

Is that a chunk of the rim missing as well on the reverse?

"Is that a chunk of the rim missing as well on the reverse?"

I can't tell for sure if its missing or if it's a dent, I will have to post photos when I return.

I'm also bugged now that the outer rim of the reverse seems joined in some spots. There are small craters on parts of the rim.

Struck through debris? Likely to get $10 on the bay, even if it's just damage. =/

Unless it were struck-thru something very solid, wouldn't you still see the design of the wheat ear through the debris?

Can you see hints of rust around edge? Or is it the same color as the rest of the coin?

If it is the same color, I would lean toward PMD and then plated.

This coin is reprocessed (replated) and is worth very little numismatically (less than a dime)...regardless of the fact that it is a decent error (struck through on reverse). What a shame...
