Stopped by the bank today. Cue shamless gloating: teller gave me a silver dime she'd been saving for me -- real sweet of her; wouldn't take it back. She also said she'd been saving some "old rolls" a merchant brought in. I figured I don't normally do quarters, but it's nice to change things up and sometimes I like to go in the direction I am nudged to see what happens. Unfortunately, only had $58 in coin to exchange today out of my normal pool of $80.
Glad I decided to try the quarters. The $50 in quarters yielded a 1954 on the very last roll -- cool part is (for this Christian) it was just literally a second after I told my wife "it'd be cool to wind up with a silver quarter after the kind of week I had". The '54 was nestled down 3rd or 4th from the top.
Same roll also gave me my first national park quarter, this Yellowstone I just dig like crazy. Ignore the canadian cent: just a coin nearby that was handy and I thought would look cool in the shot.
I have no illusions about the realistic odds of silver in quarters, but this does show it IS still out there, of course. Here's hoping for a blessed weekend for you and yours in these crazy times.
