JoesterVT, value is a tough question. More and more have been crawling out of the woodwork recently halting the price action.
As far as I know, 7 dies have been identified for the Denver coin and only 5 for Philly. So, the Philly is slightly harder to find.
When they were first discovered, they were selling for nice prices.
Maybe someone will set me straight here, but I would think the coin listed above would get at least $50. Hopefully more.

I having a little trouble telling the difference between 005 and 006. In 006, does the little vertical thingy on the bottom of the G extend straigt down, and its absent in the 005?

By the way, thanks everybody!
Joester, The best thing to do is get several examples of 86-88 and several examples of 89-92 and compare them. Paying particular attention to the designers initials.
If you find the reverse of 89-92 on an '88, you've got the one everyone wants.

Hang in there Dottir, patience is a virtue in this business.
Keep an eye out for 92's that have the wrong reverse, too - those are big time!

Dang...I probably threw ten or more 92s into the bucket today. What are we looking for there?

Thanks Scooby, I'll remain optimistic here. I've found some very cool coins so far and no doubt I'll hit some milestone ones eventually. May trade in some rolls for different ones in a day or so. My kid will be here in maybe a week too and hopefully she'll remember to bring me all her pennies and change from her change jar. She better not pack them and forget to bring them or she'll be sleeping on the couch while here

CONGRATS SCOOBY! WTG! I'm still looking for the 88D! *The 1988D is the more scarce and much more valuable than the 1988P The last 1988D I saw for sale on E-bay last year was a buy it now and was sold for between $500.00 and $600.00 The 1988P is selling for well under $100.00- I've seen them go for as low as between $35.00 to $50.00 Check the Lincoln Cent Resource site for additional info on these 2 coins etc.

Thanks Chuckster, even though there are more dies known for the Denver mint? The statistics I recall were something like 1:1200 on Phillies and 1:750 on the Denvers. I know they are estimates, but 7 dies vs 5 seems to support the guesstimates, doesn't it?

I was just trying to match the dies up on Dr. Wexler's site and the mintmark placement does not match dies 3, 5, 6 or 7. No mintmark placement was shown for dies 1, 2, and 4 but none of the markers matched on those, either.

The D coin,so far,has been the hardest to locate.I have one also.Mine does not match any of the markers shown at Wexler either. In fact the coin is at Wexler now to determine if it's an unlisted die. They are not impossible to find. One guy found 4 Denver mint state coins in his jar of cents.

lincolncentresource had the D listed as extremely rare, but I don't know how often they update the site.As people learn about them,I think more and more will show up. I had never heard of the WAM's until October when JoeyZ76 posted one on a different forum.
