Hi, I've mentioned these elsewhere in the forum but I didn't have pictures to show you. If anyone can tell me anything more about these things I'd appreciate it.

Someone did mention in past something about a dam in BC ... related to the 1966 medallion, but I don't know much else, or if any of these items are more value as collectibles than simple novelty items.

I found absolutely nothing on the game tokens except my neighbor mentioned a casino in Toronto and that these tokens were from back in the 1980's. Googling comes up empty for me on both the tokens/casino and the medallion, so again ... if anyone knows anything about anything? I really like the medallion :)

Hi. That was you!

I replied to your email. If you haven't received it that's weird. I'll go and check my sent folder to be sure it went out correctly. I haven't had a mailer daemon bouncing it back ... be right back ;)

WOW ... I just googled the WAC Bennet Dam and found info about it in wiki, but no mention of medallions or anything like that. The history is ... ouch :( a case of major numbers of jobs created at a major sacrifice to people who had been living there (expropriated land) Such is the way of "progress" Something always has to give.

It's interesting that it sounds like the dam was started by one group, then switched mid stream to another, (BC hydro) If I read this correctly, this medallion I have was created during the building of the dam and before it was a fully functional dam started up in 1968? or else the medallion was made later to commemorate "1966". Sorry this isn't sinking in my head here, maybe you can understand it better. My brain is very tired right now and not absorbing:

I just want to mention that the 1966 token/medallion is going to D
so it no longer belongs to me :)

Now, I'm still not knowing where the 4 games tokens originated or any history about them
and if they are the kinds of tokens that fit into CCF forum or any tokens forums. When I think
of coins and tokens, I think of tokens like Hudson's Bay Company trade historic tokens, not gaming tokens. Although I do see posts about transit tokens.

I know very little about tokens in general so I don't know what types are considered colletibles. My googling comes up zip for info on the games tokens or funny money ones like these four. Does anyone at all have any info or interest in these? Thanks :)

There's a Randy Fromm who has an amusement machine website and teaches how to repair them. It's possible he had some made to use on the machines he teaches on..? You could always email him and ask.. his contact info is at the bottom of this page: http://www.randyfromm.com/amusements/

Ouch, I'm so sorry I didn't see this and am so late to respond xshift!! My bad :(

Thank you for that information! The medallion/token belongs to D now, it's enroute in the mail to them!

The email contact may be handy for you now D, in case you want to enquire about your new token :)

By the way, the neighbor gave me more of his change to look through and I have two more of those game tokens now, making a total of 6 of them :D
