15.3 KBI've had this Kennedy Bicentennial 1/2 dollar for a while. I was looking over some coins last last night and did my wandering eyes see. Is this one of the popular Kennedy DD's?

I can't tell from the pictures, is there any way that you could get a close up of maybe two letters?

I still cant quite tell what you have here, but I can give you some info regarding DDs. If the doubling is flat, and unjoined from the mail letters, then you have what is called shelf doubling (AKA. mechanical or Machine Doubling). This is fairly common, and often there are tiny scratched metal lines under a letter. This 'error' carries no premium. However, if the doubling is rounded, and sticks up to the level of the main letters, this is an actual DD. Good Luck!

Since I couldn't get clear enough pictures of this coin to get better opinions and because I believed there was some sort of doubling I took this and other coins to the local coin dealer. He is a real friendly guy. It's the first time I have entered this shop. While he agrees it is a DD, it is not a true DD but a slight machine DD error. I'll keep for now eventhough he said it doesn't add to the value of my coin.
