As much as I hate to say this, but it is the way it was back then, the First Ladies served absolutely NO purpose and was to be seen and not heard. They were nothing more than guests at the White House and about as memorable as your last hog dog vendor at a sporting event! There is absolutely NO REASON to put any of them on a coin let alone a gold one! This really turns me away from collecting U.S. coins in the future. Guess I will stick to the Indian/Buffalo nickels, the Sackies and silver eagles.

I agree on the First Lady dollars. I hope they mint a zillion, and cannot sell even 100. Then they will have to melt all of them down and make a nicer coin.

I am one collector that will NOT be buying any first lady coins. Watch out. Next, we will have "colorized" senator and representative coins.

If they really do mint 1 Sac for every 2 Presidential dollars (which I have also read in reports about the legislation), there will not be a shortage of Sacs, there will be a glut.

Look for the first in mid-February, for Presidents' Day.
