WASHINGTON - The United States Mint announced today that it will begin accepting orders for the 2011 United States Army Commemorative Coins at noon Eastern Time (ET) on January 31. Public Law 110-450 authorizes the United States Mint to mint and issue a maximum of 100,000 $5 gold coins, 500,000 silver $1 coins, and 750,000 half-dollar clad coins to recognize and celebrate the founding of the United States Army in 1775.
Pricing for the 2011 United States Army Commemorative Coins is as follows:

The introductory sales period ends on March 2, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. ET, when regular pricing takes effect.
Surcharges from the sale of each coin-$35 for each $5 gold coin, $10 for each silver $1 coin and $5 for each half-dollar clad coin-are authorized to be paid to the Army Historical Foundation to support the construction of the National Museum of the United States Army at Fort Belvoir, Va.
