I`m going to start from scratch on these because my ears are still burning from the 1878s would any/all of these make it to MS

I think all three stand a chance. The worst you can say about any of them is that they're sliders - just on the AU-BU border. Each of them are coins which would require in-hand observation to be sure, because it's all a matter of luster. The cheek, the cap, the eagle's neck, the top edges of the wings, all would need to be looked at to see if any wear is beginning to show there.

I pulled all your pics into Photoshop and corrected the color, and they've got me scratching my head.

The first coin has the best obverse strike, and the worst reverse. Also, the scratches on the cheek are a point of concern. I'm guessing it's barely circulated. The second is my best candidate for an MS coin, and has the best reverse. The third, I believe, is just AU.

Does the reeding on the edge of any coin differ from the others?
