Hi
I'm so glad to have found a forum like this. I have a collection of coins that need "going-through", and I have no idea what I'm looking at. I figure nothing is particularly valuable, but, I'd sort of like them to go to someone who'd appreciate them.
What do I do? Is going to a coin dealer a good idea (and how do you pick one?)? Or is using
ebay a good move (how do I work out a price?)?
Here is a snapshot of a handful of the coins that I have. I wonder about their value - and have tried googling them, but I've learned that's pretty unreliable. Although, I am under the impression that the New Zealand decimal money isn't even worth its face value as it's not considered legal tender anymore! Wow!

Some of the coins I'm getting attached to (and I'm not a collector of anything - I'm one of those horrible people who try to have as little stuff as possible, and only what I need - seriously!) But I'm particularly taken by the 1899 & 1902 coins 'cause they're so old.
Anyway! Assuming that anyone has read this far - what would you do with a lot of un-needed coins of unknown value?
Any advice appreciated & thanks for reading!
Have a great day!
