Hi guys,

Basically I purchased a bulk lot of pre-decimal coins and while I was going through them I noticed something strange about a 1941 penny I received. There appears to be silhouette of a head behind the roo.

From what I can make it, there is a clear forehead between the roo and the Australia at the top of the coin. There also appears to be the outline of a neck by the date. The coin is not in the best condition unfortunately but the head can clearly be seen.

What do you guys reckon it could be?

Ghosting of the obverse image of the George V1 can be found commonly on kangaroo pennies. Mostly, you have to look very hard to see it. Not in this case, however!

Not a bad acquisition if that's what you are looking for. Congratulations.
