Hi, I have found a coin which now I think its a button or similar as it has a raised circle type ridge on the back.... the front seems to have what appear to be pictures or symbols of some sort around the edges. some of them look like squiggles and others look like fish type. it does seem very old, was wondering if anyone had any ideas ?

Almost certainly a button. I immediately thought of some Maltese pieces with these "squiggly" things.

thank you very much for your help, I really dont think it is the same type.
It isn't a properly rounded button, the inner circle is very wobbly. it has a fish pattern and what I think look like wish bones or double ended wish bone and 3 dots....hmmmmm its really puzzling me. I live in the uk and dont know anyone to look at it for me. it looks hand made.
