Figured you would. Had to run quickly right after I finished my box. Here is the 1913S I apologize for the quality I have to invest in a camera taking the picture on my tablet. I will post more later. Edit: Also those marks on the coin are not a product of the light they are on the coin.

I grabbed $20 in pennies from the bank on the weekend and had a couple interesting finds. A couple of late 40's, a Barbados cent, and my favourite find of the bunch - a 1947 Newfoundland penny. That was the first Newfoundland coin I've ever found so that was exciting :)
Cheers!

Whiz, that's really good for many reasons. Hope that momentum keeps going.
Wild, love the Newfoundland Penny!

Thanks! I really hope the momentum keeps up as well. I am hoping I can get through another 4 boxes before the penny is gone. I also need to invest in a magnifying glass so I can check some of them for different variations.
Also, a question for those more well versed in collecting then I am. What do I look for in a penny to tell if it is a proof like coin? I have been trying to find it online but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.
Wild I am jealous of your Newfoundland Penny! I have been looking ordering a couple but wanted to fill out my penny set before I move onto anything else.

I wish I had gotten into this hobby sooner rather than later I am going to miss the penny boxes. Here are the tallies from my last 2. My first box was amazing and I would say 95% came from that one box. KGV 1928, 1932, 1934 I forgot to snap a pic of these I will make sure to do so later. I had a large haul of KGVI this time and didn't take a pic because there were so many. If you all want I can grab one later. 1 - 1937, 3 - 1938, 8 - 1939, 12 - 1940 13 - 1941, 9 - 1942, 9 - 1943, 11 - 1944 12 - 1945, 12 - 1946, 16 - 1947, 5 - 1948 7 - 1949, 5 - 1950, 8 - 1951, 13 - 1952 I did grab a picture of some really nice examples that I found there are a couple of blemishes on each but they still are very shiny. I also pulled out a lot of wheaties and one special one made its way north of the border. A 1909 VDB! Unfortunately the VDB is incredibly faint and my tablet doesn't have the zoom power to bring it out. It is so faint it basically is just a 1909 plain. I also got a 1914S for myself which is in the pic. The 1909 also has that very unattractive spot on it. I also pulled out a 1910 and 1911 but they are so word that you can barely make out the date. Anyways I guess it is time to move onto nickels we may have to start a new thread. Looks like I will have to fill in the rest of the holes in my penny chronology by purchasing the missing dates.

Whiz, that's quite the haul you've made. I have some boxes to go through still but yet to find any KGV!
I did get luck in one box that had a role of KGVI's, not nearly as nice as those though. Mostly '47's for some reason...I haven't identified the varieties yet but all look to be ML...
