I have an opportunity at a local show to purchase OBW rolls of 1960 and 1964 Washington quarter rolls. Each of which has gorgeous end of roll toning on obverses. Asking $230. Too high?

Bid/Ask is $210/$220 for these rolls. $230 is fair price but remember these were selling for $100 just one year ago.

I understand that silver has risen tremendously over the past year, but I was hoping higher grade pulls might make up for the higher cost. Anyone have experience with how the toning on these rolls may influence the coins in the interior if the end coin is a monster? I will probably not be able to get back to the show tomorrow anyway. Thanks!

There is no guarantee that that the roll is OBW. So the outside coins might be beautiful, but all the inside coins could just be junk silver.

If you buy, just don't have too high of hopes. Just assume that you are just buying junk silver. It if turns out well, it's an added benefit

I'd offer $220, they'd take it, and I'd enjoy going through the rolls... or stashing them away for a later day. Doubt I'd be able to resist though.
