How would you grade this one? Is that toning natural?

I agree with Fenton on MS-61, and the toning looks natural to me. I see what aladin is seeing in the field in front of liberty's face, but I can't conclusively say it's cleaning as it may just be the lighting. I see lots of luster erverywhere else, so if it is cleaned, I think its isolated. I like this coin though, it has some character! And great photography too.

I'm not sure if those hairline are caused by cleaning because they only appear on the obverse. I'm going to grade this coin at MS-62.

Thanks everyone. It does appear to be a VAM 10A, although Vamworld's description is a little hard for me to understand. It does have some extra material between the denticles between 9 and 2 and a wide CC, but I can't tell if its a 10 or 10A. Anyway, thanks for the tip! I think I'll send it off to ANACS in case those hairlines are deemed cleaning marks.

The difference between VAM 10 and 10A is the multiple clashing your coin exhibits....It's a VAM 10A....Good luck with your submission, and let us now how it all turns out!....Very nice coin there

It came back AU-55 from ANACS, but wasn't deemed cleaned. It was also attributed the VAM-10A (big thanks Aladin!) as well as MPD which I know stands to misplaced date but I don't fully understand. I've got it up on ebay at well above market just to see what offers come in, but I think I'm going to keep it. Anyway, just thought I'd update the thread. I was hoping for an MS grade but I'm glad it didn't come back as cleaned and I'm happy to get the VAM attributed.
Rest in Peace

It seems to me as if ANACS is really tightening the screws these days! I would have thought 58 at minimum.
