Welcome, you must have 50 post before you post something to sell... But to post pictures, post as many as you want. A Picture is worth a thousand words, or more here.
To post a picture, you cannot do it in the quick reply section at the bottom, you must click the "Reply to topic" then "Insert an Image File" Find you file, and you should be all set.

Hi Mishap
There are no restrictions for posting pics, only for selling and trading .
To the left of the main screen find the tutorials section, click uploading Images,, If you have problems let us know and someone will help you .

Hi Mishap Very cool !!! have you sent the coin in for authentification and Grading ? This is a must to achieve the value that the coin truely has,, I do not care for TPG's but the system for this type of coin enhances the truth. once agin very very cool coin !! Rick

I have sent pictures to two highly known persons in the error market and both feel 99% sure of its authenticity. Like you mentioned grading services can be the pits some of the time and the market tends to herd us all like cattle towards the gates of a slabbing company one way or another to have a fair shake at ones coins value in the open market. Raw can be nice for buyers, I suppose slabs can be good some times for sellers as well.It is a toss. Yes I plan to have it slabed by NGC or PCGS .

Wow!! This VERY cool!! I only wish I could get such a clear picture of my Lincoln Penny with a dropped letter. I always called mine a floating D. I guess it's interchangable, though. Congrats and post again with any interesting findings. Happy Hunting!!

I use a 10x sony FD Mavica camera which is an older digital and uses a 3 1/2 floppy shot through a beloma triplet. Seems to do ok for an older setup. My older windows seems to not produce the clarity that a newer system can create though. Thank everyone for the input though the question about how many State Quarters are there out there that have a dropped letter and which states seems to be close to nil ? http://www.geocities.com/emotionnpo...dLetter.htmlAlso has anyone else encountered the same differences of the proof and silver proof sets that I have shown ?

While I can not make a comment on the dropped letter, although it is pretty neat, I can give you my thoughts on the Oregon quarters. Your pictures would indicate that the tree on the left is in fact a doubled die. I am not 100 % sure of this, for your pictures are a bit blurred, however, the extra thickness would indicate that this may be what they call "snap back" doubled die. If you could, take another set of pictures of the tree on the left and forward then to either Ken Potter (KPotter256@aol.com) or John Wexler (jwex@comcast.net). These two gentlemen are in the thick of attributing the doubled die Minnesota quarters and will be able to render an opinion on this possible doubled die. Coin World, in the recent edition, does make note (article by Ken Potter) that there is a satin finish proof Oregon quarter that is a doubled die. WAVYSTEPS2003 aka BJ Neff

I suppose the penny I have with the dropped letter would then be a 1992 D, since the D is near Abe's chin and not under the date. I tried getting a pic with my scanner a while ago and I couldn't get the D to show. Now that I can load images with my camera I'll try it again and see if I can the D to show. If I get it I will post it on this thread.
