I recently bought a large cent and a walker from him. Both appear as described and were at a reasonable price. Only knock is that the large cent's picture showed some mint luster but the piece is brown. As a f/vf piece I'm ok with that, but definitely shows some photoshop is happening. I'm using this as a way to fill my type collection and learn about grading (see if the TPG comes close to mine). I've always wondered where he gets the quantity of rarity and quality from, with ms barbers and rare proofs. I was really hesitant about the more expensive items since he almost never has them graded. Thanks to this thread it now makes sense.

Using the "enhanced" photos is a good tactic for them since they can charge a slight premium for the coin and, when delivered, most people will just shrug, accept that it doesn't look exactly like the picture, and give the standard "good transaction" type feedback.

I guess it is OK so long as they have a return policy I mean really it is just good marketing if a bit deceptive. Food companies do it all the time the burger you get at BK in no way resembles any of the marketing materials.
