I'm not sure how many people tune into the HSN,but after
another member emailed me to tell me it would be on in 10
minutes,I tuned in.They had the whole State Quarter sets with
the "S" proof(never been released)1999-2005 for $479.00,they
offered to send the next coming years with a price of $59.95
So for around $660.00 plus all the shipping and handling, you can get a complete set of "clad" State Quarters.Even with the "s" proof, how
much would this really cost somebody.I watched for 15 minutes with 130
sets left, all sell out.Are we able to buy these "S" proofs, despite what they advertise? If so what would the "S' proofs cost alone?
:) sn31.

Well going by PCGS.com prices, the proof quarters through 2006 would be
$264. Add in the complete mint sets and it would be another $216 for a grand total of $480. Now this is right at their price but it includes the entire annual mint sets, not just the quarters. As for years not released yet, the 5 quarter proof set is $15.95 and the mint set is $16.95 for a total of $32.90 plus $4.95s&h directly from the Mint.

All in all, another lousy HSN deal

Well, to put it in perspective, I bought all 1999-2005 clad quarter proof sets off ebay earlier this year and paid 240.00 including shipping.

I did see the same thing on tv..But I only watch HSN and Coin Value strictly for entertainment purposes only!

Alot of "people" fell for that Buffaloboy. As I stated,in the last 15 minutes 130 sets sold out. These were only 3 quarters "S" "D" "P",They were really building these up due to the "S" proof, and that nobody would be able to get them.

Hi sn31

The S mint proof coins are available in every Mint ordered Proof set.

There is nothing rare or unattainable involved with S mint coins,,

HSN is not the best source for coin info, nor for purchasing coins. as has already been demonstrated by the price gouging and false info.

The Mint only sold them as sets but many have been broken up and single coins are easy to find on ebay or at any coin dealer. There are also 90% silver proof versions as well but they are more costly than the clad issues. Also, you may or may not be aware of this, the Mint sells a State Quarter only proof set. Those were the prices that I listed in my ealrier post. The full proof sets would be much more expensive. Purchasing the 5 quarter clad sets from each year and breaking them up would be the quickest, easiest, and probably cheapest way of getting all 40 quarters.
