So I was transferring my lincoln cents from an ancient 1965 folder to my new folders, and I noticed there were 3 1960 in the old folder and only 2 spaces in the new one. upon further inspection I found that there was a 1960 LD, then I believe and S- sd and S LD? anyway, I put the sd in the blank space at the end of the folder... is there anything rare or significant about the small date compared to the LD?

The 1960 small date is pretty rare to find in circulation, the 1960-D is common.

As noted the only real difference is that 60 small date is worth about 10 times more than the others. And check carefully since there are also 1960 large over small dates and 1960D over D, small dare over large dates. This means you could possibly have 6 of the 1960's. Not to mention all the RPM's in that series.

They are more difficult, but I believe in the last box I went through, I have found 2 1960 small dates, but many more large dates.

I've searched 100$ ( 4 boxes ) so far and found one smalldate 1960-p , I posted a pic of it on page 231 in the LC finds thread.

It filled a spot in a album and amazingly it was bright red in AU condition
