I didn't think the 73 Ike was a key date...? Other modern key dates: 1955 Franklin half, 1979 wide-rim SBA dollar, 1950D nickel, 1970s small date Lincoln Cent (if your into varieties)

I forgot about that, thanks condor. They really don't command much of a premium though so I don't think about them when thinking about keys.

Good question yotie. Also what about other varieties? CLAM,WAM? Will they ever make their way into albums? They would certainly be keys if they do...

There were at least one billion zinc 1982 cents from each mint, so I would not see them becoming a key.

Another modern key is the 1981 S Type 2 Lincoln Cent. And this coin be very careful when buying as a lot of these are being sold on ebay as Type 2's when they are really Type 1's.

With a mintage of a mere 774,844 the Uncirculated bronze 2009 Lincolns only found in Mint Sets will probably see some appreciation. The proofs probably not nearly as much due to a mintage of well over 2 million.
Conditional keys would be BU 1982 and 1983 nickels through half dollars.
