Gotta 'nother one. Got this one in today from a E-bay auction. Got it cheap, and not worth much $$ in any case. E-bay scares heck out of me, I thought I would run this one by the forum.
But when I looked at this one, I was Really impressed.
Great cartwheeling luster (is that a real term?), good strong stike.
They do not show in the pics (I still need to work on that . . . . ) but I have every chest feather.
There are hairlines on ol' George that I do not see on much of my stuff. Again, they do not show on the pics.
What does show on the pics are some dings. Got a couple dings on the cheek and the cheekbone that are visible to the naked eye. A couple of dings by the 1 in the date that are visible.
That one below George's ear is not readily visible at all.
On the reverse, there is a tiny ding on the right wingtip (your left) that show on the pic. Can see that one fairly easily.
Those black marks on the right wing (your left) are almost invisible under 3-X.
Other than that, the reverse nearly clean. Couple tiny marks in the field that are (again) insignificant under 3-X.

Anyway, I believe this one is a no-brainer MS-65.
Is it marked up enough to keep it from a 66? Or better?

Is the grainy look to both sides of the bust a result of the photography?

I don't think it's MS-65, too many distracting marks. Maybe MS-63 with that luster.

The grainy look is the luster. I promise I will get better at photography . . . . .

I hear you about the marks, and they concern me as well. But only about three of them are readily visible. One thing the camera does is catch those marks well.

That ugly one under the ear? It ain't even there! Well, it is actually there, but I would have never seen it if not for the photo.

The two on the cheek is indeed visible, though very light.

Marks in the hairline? Ain't there.

Marks in the right wing? Can't see 'em without magnification.

But the camera doesn't lie, it just exaggerates. :)

Anyway, it is what it is, and no monetary value to speak of. I am just seeking knowledge.
