I can tell you that neither coin is a Top100 coin nor a Hot50 coin and the only way to see what it is worth is to sell it at auction with a 9.99 start with no reserve because there is no list of prices except for those (Top100 and Hot50) coins. There is also no record on ebay about what price one has sold for either so you are running blind and let the market answer your question for you

Hi Brian, I thought both coins are in the hot 50 and top 100 vams, when looking in the books what do you see, I am told by anacs that the 1883cc is rare at VAM 7, not to many given that designation. Help me out vammers, ty Coin Hog

Let me check again, looking at the book right now, the 1883-CC is listed in the VAM book as a I-2 and R-3 (interest-2 Rarity-3 out of a possibility of 8) and is not neither a Top100 nor a HOT50. The 1900-P VAM-16 is listed as a I-3 and R-3 But it is a HOT-50 (sorry I missed it the first time)and in AU condition is listed as worth about 19-22 dollars on vamlink.com, here is a link if you would like to check for yourself http://vamlink.com/VAM_Values.php?o...OT_50_Values

OPf course I am no " VAM expert" and all I have to go by is the results on such pages and recent sales from ebay, teletrade, heritage (which there has been none that I could find)so those prices could be a little off but as I said that is all I have to go by

Thanks Brian, as always you have been a real nice coin guy with great knowledge and I will call you a friend, I don't know if you remember the coin I asked about a month ago, this is the same 1883 cc morgan that I thought it was a small clip, but Anacs deemed it not a clip but a VAM 7 but one good thing is the bumped it up from a ms 62 in the old holder to ms 63 so on that note maybe worth $250 now. cool, I do remember the coin in question. One thing if it were a Hot50 or Top100 ANACS would have labeled it as such on the holder. If they did do that then I am wrong about it not being either, but if it doesn't have that on the label then it is neither. I am glad you got the upgrade though, that is atleast one good thing that happened with having it rechecked, and even if its not one of the Hot50 or Top100 coins if you have 2 people trying to complete a CC VAM set the price still may go up considerably from the base price of the coin. VAM's are one part of collecting where there is no real guide to go by as far as price goes, I had my eye on a 1878 MS-64PL VAM-43 that was unattributed in a old green PCGS holder in a teletrade auction Sunday and every price guide and past sales I saw said it should be about a 600.00 coin, it is one I have been searching for for awhile so I watched it (teletrade had past sales of 1878 64pl sales at 400.00 as the highest sold) and figured if I was the only one who noticed it was this specific VAM it could be a HUGE rip (wishful thinking) in the first hour the price was up to 550.00 which superseded my initial bid of 525.00, so I bid up to 675.00 (75.00 higher than any price guide or any past sales of a coin in this grade had sold for in the past) and up until the last 10 seconds the price had went up to my price of 675.00, well within the last 10 seconds it went up to 775.00 and that is what it sold for, so if you have atleast 2 people interested in the same coin the bidding can get fierce
