Hey everyone I would like your opinions on the grade of this coin.(photo above) I just got it, a 1922 and although it is not a top rated grader. As they say "buy the coin not the holder". I got it at a good price and really like the luster and condition. Thanks Alan 1922 Peace dollar thanks to all for the grading help Edited by acan451 02/10/2011 8:22 pm

There is no way we can give an honest opinion on grade with these photos ...
Show us full-size photos of the coin itself and we can help.
Glad you are happy with it ... just know that it's highly unlikely to be a true MS67 coin in the 3rd tier graders holder.

Better photo will be up soon. And yes I though the grading could be a bit high, that's why I would like more opinions from those who know better than me Thanks Alan

Looks like it has a great luster, but I'm afraid it's to difficult to grade or make any determination because of the small pics. It sure looks good from here. BINP.

Greetings all I am trying to take pictures of this coin and others, using a digital camera with zoom. My question is would it be better to scan the coins. I am trying to get the best picture quality possible Thanks Alan

Is this the same coin as in the other thread? At first I thought they were 2 different coins, but now I'm thinking they were the same one. We only need one thread. Anyways, I dont think it would grade above 62 with the splotches and those hits(it may squeak a 63). It has nice luster.

MS-63
EDIT: Good example of why one shouldn't grade from small photos the detail is critical to see hairlines, nicks, and other marks.

I might go AU58 tops...but the photo's are still to blurry might think its MS as with these grading companies will clean the coin...and over grade..if your looking for shine....then the coin has it,, but there's not enough for details to know what it is...WAKE UP!! these companies slab CRAP....they are problem coins no one else will grade...melt value...

This coin still has nice luster...usually you can tell whether AU or MS by that. They've definitely overgraded it but you can sometimes find decent coins in junk slabs...they're just not the grade stated.

I will agree with you there, but I often see problem coins...especially cleaned coins...from these Bottom slabbers...
