Bought 3 coins in SGS slabs. They were certainly not graded properly. The seller said grading was subjective and the grade was what the grader determined it should be. The price I paid was about raw value or less. You could easily use these holders on other coins. What a joke. SGS is a joke.

Note that they are graded to sgs standards. they don't claim they'll meet any other standards.
Check a can of kaughy to see how many 5 oz cups it will make. Nothing about how many real 8 oz cups.

They should change their name to DIMG..."done in my garage".

As others have stated, they grade their own coins to be placed on the numismatic market. Major conflict of interest red flag there. This company regularly slabs MS-70 coins by the roll.......... nuff sed ?

This company is always a sore spot with me, but on the other hand a constant source of humor as well. I once seen a coin graded by them on ebay that was certified "Genuine". From a company that gives out 70's like they are nothing, how bad does a coin have to be to get a Genuine grade at SGS.

never heard of SGS but they probably aren't any good. Stick with pcgs, ngc, and sometimes anacs.

from their home page: Quote: Our experts have over 100 combined years dealing with rare and valuable coins.
They must have about 200 "experts"

Quote: ....but if you keep to those top three, you should be OK. I don't know about that. I've got a 1917S Buffalo on another forum. It's graded PCGS F 12 but the LIBERTY is not clear of the rim. I thought that was a must for a F designation no matter which grading guide is used.

SGS is blind. Unknowing at the time of what people here are saying I bought some ATB P&D 2010 & 2011 sets that he said were MS 70 of course. Right every coin he grades seems to be this. Getting them home I took them out of the slabs to put in an album and found dings on the edges and each and every coin had some sort of blemish and scratch. Being new I do know these aren't MS70. More like MS63 and some MS65. Now he won't answer my emails on ebay. Hopefully, ebay will be refunding my money soon because he doesn't want to even give me a partial refund. Just my 2 cents. Teena

You're not likely to get a refund, having cracked the coins out - the seller can easily claim you're returning the wrong coins.
