Are there other pick-up points on the 1960 small date other than the obvious "0" of the date ?

i use the shape of the six if ya have 2 side by side you can see the diffrence the small date the top of the six ends kinda of at the top center and the large date curls over to the right edge of the six

I had to re-check my recent box search. I thought I had seen a couple 1960 small date. I was wrong. Each one the "9" was higher than the "1". I'm still looking out for this one.

Here are 2 pics of the only 1960P Small Date that I've ever found.

One of the biggest pick-up points, at least to me, is the difference in the 6.

The top of the six on the large date goes further to the right of the lower portion of the six, while on the SMALL DATE, the top almost lines up perfect with the lower curve of the Six.

Second is the 9, it's higher than the 1 on the large date, while the 9 is level with the 1 on the small date.

Hope this helps.

I'm confused....you are looking for something to use OTHER than the date to pick the difference between the large and small date 1960 cents? Why? The difference is VERY obvious in the date alone.

i have never really looked for the 1960 small date, and sometimes the obvious isn't obvious until someone points the obvious out

1 - the 1 and 9 being level at the top
2 - the start of the top of the 6

with these 2 pick-ups in mind, the small date is obvious to the naked eye knowing what to look for

Easiest way is to find a 1960-D small date and keep it for comparison....the D's are common, get 4 and chances are you'll have a small date and it will be obvious.

The top of the 6 goes to a point on a Small Date and on a Large Date the top of the 6 is totally flat. That is the easiest way for me to tell.
