Could someone please explain to me when the phrase 2nd reverse, 3rd reverse is used while talking about the 1878 Morgan means. Does it have something to do with a 1878 reverse of 1879?

there is a 1878 8TF, 7/8TF, B1 reverse that is 7Tf with a long nock(1st reverse) and 7TF that is a short nock(2nd reverse) and a 7TF that has the top feather of 79 so its slanted instad of flat like the rest of them in 78 (this is the 3rd Reverse)

So in a nut shell, the long nocks (8TF,7/8TF,B1 Reverse) are all type 1
7TF with short nock is 2nd Reverse
Reverse of 79 is the 3rd reverse

Thanks to you too SeatedNut. The reason I asked this question is the 1878 reverse of 1879 is the last variety of 1878 Morgans that I need. While looking for one I come across 2nd and 3rd Reverse in the description, just want to make sure I get the right one.

Well I guess I was wrong again

After reading the descriptions that came with the pics SeatedNut provided there seems to be 3 different reverses of 79. Are they all the same price wise, one more collectible than the others?
