just sorting up my circulated worn great penny coins found that in 1907 most coins that I have has a wider space on word on BRITT: OMN in 1908 to 1910 I noticed that it is much closer BRITT:OMN is tere any variety in ,in 1907 to 1908 for I got a 1908 but looks like wider space BRITT: OMN thus it worth more than the closer colon variety Edited by josie 09/21/2006 2:39 pm

I can confirm some of your findings. I checked my eleven samples of coins between 1902 and 1907, and all 11 samples are seperated more as you discribed. The nine samples I checked between 1908 and 1910, are all closer together as you discribed.
So, your not going crazy. I looked in my Krause catalog and there is no mention of this change listed. Perhaps Josie, you have discovered a lost secret of British pennies. I never knew about it before, so thank's for being this difference to the attention of the forum.

i guess so? can you post a picture with same wide space between every colon like to look at them for I cannot see other coin on the web and a web site mentioned a combination of this coin reported and not confirmed I look most circulated coins on where I am based here in ireland it is close in great britain so the source or coin is easier to obtain its nice to have good uncirculated coin but is not easy for me to have for now I am starting in circulated or worn to have example rather than nothing for you have a bunch of coin did you have an example of 1908 wide BRITT: OMN for mostly I looked on the web the variety varies in this 2 words at least I have example of worn circulated coins and post it in here to show if I am right or record it, could you please post a picture of same coin for you sold your circulated coin for sure you have a uncirculated wide BRITT: OMN 1908 penny then still a qustion exist is this a variety. a mule for there is a 1908 BRITT:OMN most of them well just a thought US coin have so many variety and expert studying on them why other countries have few, GREAT MIND, GREAT KOWLEDGE,hope that there is a slabbing company base in europe THANK FOR YOUR REPLY.
