This is an ebay listing. Am I missing something here. Why so expensive? I've done the math several times and I really have a major disconnect with his pricing.

Thirty ounces of silver at about $30 per ounce gives a spot price of about $900. Even if you add an 11% premium over spot (which would be generous for silver bars) that takes it to only $1000. His BIN price of $1977 I guess is a starting point for negotiation.

You could always offer $900 and see what happens!

I think the reason why he has it so HIGH in price is also cause of how collectible the bars might be Bars.

The reason why they are so High is cause of the MANS Name on the Bars (ARGOR SA CHIASSO) they are more rare than just regular silver bars (ITS LIKE A HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE THE NAME MAKE THE VALUE)

AhhhSoooo! Did not realize there were such things as "Art Bars." I've always paid spot plus or minus depending on the item.

Thanks.

I'm sure the the seller has also added an extra few dollars to cover the cost to ebay / paypal when it's sold.

Yes, art bars can bring much higher premiums over spot silver but those are not art bars despite the seller's description..

What-Am-I-Missing-On-The-Bullion-Listing?

Art bars have stylized designs and are collectible as more than just silver, they appeal to a large number of non-silverbugs with varying collecting interests.

Argor S.A. Chiasso is the name of a refiner... Nothing terribly arty about it. The silver is what it is, and as long as their scales work properly, who cares what's stamped on a bullion bar?

I googled ARgor Chiasso and it does look like a refiner. Perhaps an very early version? The premium does seem quite high though, but to each their own.

This premium is way too high. I just sold over 100 1 oz rounds @ $34 - $35 each over the last few weeks, but that was with free shipping and all. I guess this seller takes "buy low, sell high" to a new level.
