I like to spend them. It typically gets confused looks and questions about who the bald guy is on the back!

I have about 350 of them at home and haven't figured out what to do with them. There are some vcarieties like the peg leg and some die clashes too. THere are some threads around here and and Ike site you can sign up for. I still can't log into it though.

The Ike Group site is a good place to start learning about Eisenhower dollar varieties.

If you paid face value for them, you've hit a decent deal. Most dealers are giving $1.25 for them.

I have seen them sell for more than $1 but I don't know why.

I was away from my desk for a while (apparently about a half hour) before I sent
the above post and now I see that dealers are paying over a buck. Very interesting,
seems like I see them at banks still.

I can get plenty of them at banks. Does anyone know of a dealer in the Philly area
that will pay over $1 for them? I could make some money.

Sell them on ebay. Just add approx 12% to your face value when you list- This covers ebay's 9% and Pay-Pals approx 3% fees.

This is exactly what I do and I consistantly get enough to cover all of the fees and pocket a few bucks profit.

Better than bringing them back to the bank for face value.

Interesting, in that numismedia shows commons at <$1.25 unless AU.
