Edwards - please read the forum rules about trading. No need to mention it before we get to know you both better.

As for posting pictures, of course you can! Click "Reply to Topic" above the quick reply box, and on the new Reply page there is a small green camera below where you enter your response. You can click on it and upload your photos (less than 100K). Tutorial here: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...g_images.asp

If you'd rather post from Photobucket or similar, there is a tutorial for that here: https://goccf.com/t/53146

Some great tokens in this thread - keep 'em coming!

As I said before, you have some awesome specimens. I especially love those sodas and the James T. Ware!

Partridge & Richardson
PA 392 Brass 22mm

A dealer in dress trimmings, the merchants were Artemus Partridge and Mr Richardson from Philadelphia, PA. This must not have been an uncommon profession as I have another merchant that had a similar profession. The reverse showing the bees and skep were imagery relating to work. The old saying "Busy as a bee" comes to mind.

Samuel Hart & Co.
PA 197B White Metal 29mm
Ex: Donald Miller

Samuel Hart began his buisness as a Stationer or someone who sells stationery. In 1851 he began manufacturing steel pens, 1853 traveling bottles in leather cases, fancy mother of pearl articles, and playing cards. Samuel Hart and another card manufacturer Lawrence & Cohen merged in 1871 to form New York Consolidated Card Co. which lasted until 1931 when it again merged.

The Samuel Hart is a beauty. Love the obverse detail. Do you know offhand who the diesinkers were?

Dickeson's Coin & Medal Safe
Pa-Ph 50 (Miller PA 151) Copper 33mm

Dr Montroville Dickeson was a doctor of medicine who spent much of his time in the study of antiques and archeology. He was a well known maker of stuck copies of American colonial coins. The obverse here is an imitation of a Sommer Island Shilling. The reverse advertises Evans and Watson as makers of coin and medal safes. This is considered a trade token (post civil war) but I include it with my merchants using the old Miller numbers.

I actually do not know who the diesinker was on the Hart token. I tried to use the TAMS website as there was a journal story from Feb 1970 but the site does not have them online that far back. A guess would be either Scovill or R. Lovett as Scovill was from New York and Lovett from Philadelphia. Both were places where Hart was located. If you do find reference to the diesinker please post any info you may find.

Jennings, Wheeler & Co.
NY 388 Brass 29mm

Another merchant token that has many mulings from Scovill made dies. The North American obverse on this coin is uncommon with a later address of 45 & 47 Chambers St.
