Hi,

I just want to know if this token appears to be authentic.

After looking at a few of these I have noticed that the waves on the 1837 side appear to be distinct.

The weight and diameter can be provided once a visual has passed...

Also, I would like to have the grade.

Thanks a lot

It is an HT 18 and I would grade it VF-20. I pulled out one I have and it has the same die characteristics including the slant on the S in Webster so I feel confident its real. My example weighs aprox 8.4 grams or 0.295 oz and Rulau states the size as 28mm though they are never exactly that. Hope that helps.

Looks good, but it appears to have some surface issues, environmental damage. I agree with Cointagous on the grade.

Hey coin and exo,

Thanks for the input on the orig. hard times token.

I just found my other hard times token and I wanted to receive the same sort of feedback on it also.

Anyone else that wishes to chime in is obviously welcome.

thank you

PS: I just hit my 250th post late yesterday.

I guess that means that I can now sell things on CC without paying EBay-type fees.

I have not read the CC T & Cs carefully but I assume that this is one of the benefits of being a CC member that has taken the time and effort to reach at least 250 posts etc.

This one looks to be a HT-22 and grades VF-30 imo. Now this one has better color and surfaces than the first one you put up which I suspect was cleaned a long time ago. The lower serif of E in Webster looks to be almost nonexistant and the reverse is struck slightly offcenter. Perhaps a weak strike? Should weigh around 0.365oz or 10.3g maybe slightly less considering wear and 29.1 mm in size. Check to see if there is any evidence of a die break beginning on the last C in currency as many examples do.

Congrats on reaching 250 as well.
