I just ordered a $500 box of Half's from the bank.
And the Boxes are not from Brinks, Are there still 90% and 40% silver Half's possible in these boxes? And do you think there could be anything older than Franklin's and Kennedy's?
I would like your opinion's on searching Half dollar boxes.
Thank you everyone.

Alright dude. No need to yell! I've just seen on here how people that do have them ordered sometimes get charged a fee. Usually like $10.00 I think. No banks in my town will order them with or without a fee.

No problem! Yelling usually gets edited by the staff. Anyhoo, that's cool that they're kind enough to order them for you with no charge. I hope you're not dumping them back on them?

xinfantry4id- I would not return them back to the same bank that is ordered at. They will get really sick of them quickly if you are just returning them every week. Mountain America credit union uses Lommis in your area. There have been a lot of very heavy searchers in this area lately. There is the Black dot guy and the black slash guy. I do not want to discourage you but it is a heavily searched area.
Good luck PM if you want to talk strategy in this area.

Yes a big no no never return change to bank that orders change for you. Any type of change for the matter. Especially half dollars all banks hate them and do not want them back. They may be nice at first when it comes to ordering them and dumping them back at their bank but before you know it theyll say no we are not ordering more halves for you because all you do is bring them back. PS: I have five banks in the area I'm a member of but only 2 branches. I order from one of them and alternate on the other 4 that I take the change to cash in at.

Yes, you can get silver coins from boxes of halves. I get two boxes a week from my local bank and I have found over 200 silver coins (mostly 40%) in about 5 months of searching. I have found 90% Kennedy's Franklins, Walkers, and even three Barbers!
As for returning the coins, find a local credit union with a coin counter. Get an account if you don't have one already. Just don't dump at TD. Their penny arcade only holds $100 worth of halves per bag, so you have to get an employee to help you dump - they get agitated too quickly.
