The thing you have circled is the denomination mark: 6 kreuzer.

is that hole after a gun shot? I've seen many old coins with just a hole like that..

I think it depends on what part of Austria the coin is minted (Austrian states). The denomination can be shown in Roman numerals and Indo-Arabic
