I assume that when money is printed the numbers roll over before getting pressed so there's bound to be some misalignment but I have a note I found in circulation with a number really off.

Alignment-On-Serial-Numbers?

Is there any value to banknotes with misaligned serial numbers or is it a pretty common thing? I checked all of my other notes and I haven't found any similar.

It's called a stuck digit. The severe ones have a premium, not sure if yours is severe enough or not.

It might get a slight premium on some of the auction sites but probably not enough to make it worth while. I collect stuck and missing digit notes and would pass on it myself. These are what I consider better examples:

Ditto on what ikandiggit said, it does have a small premium. I found one recently, and am saving it since it is worth more to me as a collector than the few dollars I could sell it for.

Very nice notes ikandiggit.... what do you think the chances are that the $10 and $20 notes went through the same machine to come up with the same stuck digits with the same remnants on the same series on the same district? If so, there were probably a whole bunch more just like them both.

That certainly could be a possibility. When I see $1 notes with stuck digits, or missing digits, they are usually being sold by someone who has a stack of them and are sold either in groups (consecutive numbers) or one by one within the same week.
