not sure how to put the link up here. ebay # is 120681640661. It's a 1919S Buffalo with a "growth" on the back. It's $1,500,000 or best offer. I think I'm going to bid 2c *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Edited by numismo 02/23/2011 09:17 am

Love this part. "I hate to sell it for sure." Ha! But for 1.5 million I bet he wont cry to much - what a joke!
There are certainly some entertaining sellers on e-bay!

Thanks for the help chuckster. Now more CCF members can look in awe! Funny, the seller wants comments about what to do with the coin. I'm sure many of us would tell him except we have too much class!

Falls into those standard ebay stories like: Don't know anything about coins but...... These are all UNSEARCHED coins.... Someome left these to me and .... Got these from an elderly person that found them laying around And on and on and on. I wonder if there is book on standard selling stories on ebay?

These listings are right out of the twilight zone. That 1919-S came out of a barn!? $1,500,000 !? Viewing that listing is akin to entering a parallel universe wherein situations take on bizarre proportions. Do, do, do, do ...

He's just looking for buyers to make offers. It's a sales tactic that's been used since there's been things to sell. ebay just makes you enter a BIN price so they put a ridiculous one. Quote: "Hey how much you want for that?"
"I don't know, make me an offer." Everyone here has used this tactic, this is just the ebay version. No big deal.

Call me crazy, but I try to get top dollar for things I sell too. The guy isn't doing anything wrong. He's just asking for offers, no one is twisting your arm. For criminy's sake, if ebay started pulling your listings if they thought you were asking too much for something, you'd freak.

Quote: He said the collection came out a barn that was being torn down. A buffalo being kept in a barn? Quote: The whole body of the buffalo is covered by it. Maybe the buffalo didn't have enough room in the barn to lie down.... (Kinda sounds like the whole listing is covered by it as well). Quote: the shape of the protrusion is something close to part of the buffalo I can only imagine what part of the buffalo that might be. As far as the Morgan goes: Quote: For the winning bidder there will be a story to go along with the fact that the money is going to a great cause. I would love to hear that story. These are classic listings.... I just love this sorta stuff.... what a boring world it would be without smiles.....

What amazes me is that we see sellers like this with 100% FB on hundreds of items. Guess it's pretty hard to screw up a proof.
