I have a 1927 2 1/2 Dollar Gold Coin. Would anyone like to guess the grade for me? I don't really know much about coins and I was just wondering of it was worth sending in to be graded. Sorry for the bad pictures I don't have a great camera. I also didn't know if the light helped or not. There are no marks on the rim of the coin and no deep scratches on the coin itself. The only thing that appears to be scratches are just very light marks on the coin that I imagine would be on any coin after production. But these very light marks aren't visible unless you look very close. But I have no idea exactly what I'm looking at or looking for so an educated guess would really help me out.

Thanks!

to CCF!

Looks like a nice piece but it's really tough to grade incuse coins from pictures. A guess would be MS62 but it could be AU or even choice mint state.

I'd have a knowledgeable person view it in-hand to see if it's worth grading. You need an MS62 grade to make it worth slabbing.

Best of luck!

I agree, all of these incuse designs are really tough to grade even in hand and almost impossible to do by pictures
