I would appreciate any comments on this PCGS labeled error, I am not sure it is properly named, any comments appreciated, Thanks in Advance, Mike PS, Do you think the label named error is the correct nomenclature for this error? I am trying to collect information before I do some error studies!

The error attribution is appropriate as long as the proper tests have been done to determine that the dark streak is something besides 90% silver(copper-rich perhaps?). There is another possibility- a foreign piece of metal was rolled into the planchet stock when the thickness was being set. However, I have to assume that a PCGS grader/attributor could determine whether that was the case or not by examining the coin in-hand as there is a distinct difference between an alloy issue and an extra metal issue.

Without a close-up examination, it's impossible to say exactly what it is. It does not appear to be struck-in or rolled-in error, as there is no surrounding fissure. It could be an "intrinsic metallic inclusion" -- foreign metal that was accidentally mixed into the crucible of molten metal and that failed to blend properly. It could be part of the normal alloy that wasn't blended in. It could be a "slag inclusion". It could be lamination error (before strike). The undersurface is sometimes dark. Heck, it could be simply a stain.
