I've found a few 1970-s nickels in a bank box the other day. Most had the normal wear and tear. I can't tell since I'm used to looking at proof coins for recent years where it's quite apparent that it is a proof.

Sorry for the horrible pictures. I don't have my camera, and my Iphone refuses to cooperate with me for some reason. I can't get the pictures to show the same detail the coin has in person. They just don't show the reflectivity. I'll keep trying with my phone.

Either way, my girlfriend walked into the room as I was stapling the flip shut. I said "I think I found a proof." She replied "I think you stuck a regular nickel in a holder"

Please tell me she's wrong.

To the right of one of the other 1970-s nickels that I found.

It looks like it's probably a proof to me, but you'll have to do something with the photo to make it more 'straight-on'

You can definitely see a cameo effect going on so I say it's probably a proof.

Let's see if this works. The darn thing keeps shifting in and out of focus even when it's stabilized.

yep it doesn't matter, even when we win, we still lose. While they get a win, win. just doesn't seem fair but seems to be how it always turns out

A lot of proofs showing up in rolls these days. I am glad they are being found by people that will care for them.
