Drove out to the Live Oak show (San Antonio)... found a couple of buffalos I needed at a price I liked (1921-S in G for $55 and a 1914-S in F-12 for $33).
Most exciting find of the day -- when I bought Panda Express for lunch on the way home, I got a Gettysburg quarter (D mint) in change.
If I was looking to stockpile some silver right now, this was a great show to be at. Lots of deals at or below melt.

Was it the Panda Express at the Junction of 35 and 1604?

Ah, that's like a 45 minute drive. I was hoping it was the one over by live oak so I can go get some. I haven't found any banks that have new uncirculated coins with the exception of the Presidential dollars, everyone in this city seems to get there coin from Brinks, and Brinks coin rolls have nothing good in them.

emh - are Brinks the clear wrapped rolls? That is what I'm finding most places. I have gotten some customer-wrapped rolls at Chase, but otherwise it's clear plastic wrap. I did get a bunch (a roll+) of 2010-D AND 2010-P in a box of nickels recently. I don't often get P mint in anything recent.

Yes, Brinks are the clear wrapped and most banks just recycle them so they don't have to tap into their federal reserve deposits. On occasion I find a business that has mint wrapped rolls in the register and I ask if I can have them as change. I get funny looks, but I really don't care.

In giving a coin show report it would be nice to give more details in case someone reading this post might be interested in going to the next one. For example how big, how many dealers, how busy, parking fees? Entrance fees? Big building, small with little aisle room? Friendly dealers or rude? Mostly slabbed coins or raw? How close to a large city? Lots of things that could or would help others want to go there.

The San Antonio Coin club sponsors two coin shows per year, at the Live Oak Civic Center, located in Live Oak which is more or less in San Antonio T.X. San Antonio is the 7th largest City in the U.S, and the 2nd Largest City in Texas. The Civic center is roughly 20 minutes from Downtown San Antonio, and 12 minutes from the San Antonio International Airport. The first show of the year takes place in the Rocket room which has a total of 3,500 Sq ft of floor space and was pretty well populated with dealers. The second show of the year, which is scheduled for May takes place in the Normand are Tremblay Exhibit Hall at 25,000 square feet and 3,500 person capacity. Despite little advertising, the floor get's pretty busy as the morning progresses. Parking is free and adequately available, with large company parking lots nearby available for overflow. There is a $2 entrance fee, or if you require/desire early entry to talk with dealers, or for other special needs you can acquire the early bird entry pass for $25.00. The major San Antonio dealers were all present as well as several from around the state, all of the Dealers I dealt with were more than friendly, and I experienced no rudeness. The show contained a fair mixture of slabbed coins, raw coins and coins in 2x2's. I noticed a nice selection of U.S Coins and Foreign coins. One of my observations on the coins being offered was the minimal amount of U.S Modern coins (65 - present), The majority of coins were pre 1965. From what I noticed, and what specksynder had mentioned, silver was in abundance. I also noticed a large quantity of gold. Most of the dealers also had a nice offering of currency both foreign and domestic (U.S).

lol! I'm a Gateway Coin Club member. I was at the show from two hours before the doors opened, until nearly 2PM. I'm pretty sure you'd remember the woman at the door wearing a black shirt?
Indeed, we had very good results at the show. I am very happy that we had some pleased customers!
Incidentally, both coin clubs put on two shows per year. Gateway does February and May, then Alamo will put on two shows in August and November/December. I apologise that I am not armed with the exact dates.
Both clubs meet Thursday evenings at 7PM. Gateway meets the first and third Thursdays at the Denny's located at Wurzbach and I10.
Alamo meets the second and fourth Thursdays at the Luby's on 410 and Nacogdoches.
We even have the Mexican Coin Club that meets the fifth Thursdays when they occur- the location varies. I believe the March 31st meeting will be held at La Jacala on West Ave.
