Help ID My Two New Chinese Coins Please

Picked up these two coins today and have no real idea as to if they are real or what they are or if they were worth what I paid for them, Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks James left weight is 17.9g and approx38.8mm right is 18.9g and 37.8mm approx both stick to strong magnet Report this Post to the Staff

Good sign is, if they are magnetic, they are just cheap iron / nickel. Sap Moderator Australia 16857 Posts	Posted 02/27/2011 01:02 am Yep - sorry, they're not genuine coins. They're supposed to be silver, and silver doesn't stick to a magnet. The dollar on the left should weigh about 27 grams; the tael on the right should be even heavier, about 33 grams. Although the counterfeiters got their dies mixed up for the one on the right as it also claims to be a dollar (7 mace 2 candareens) in Chinese on the other side!
