Until last night......I've never previously been interested in looking for WAM's.
Or even any other kind of variety.
I've decided that I should jump on board with " WAM Mania" since I search so many Lincoln Cents.

Now, could somebody post a "side by side" picture of a WAM and a normal Cent for me please ?
I have read the "verbal" (or written) description many many times...but I need a clear distict visual picture here !
Once I can picture the difference in my mind....I think it will help me a lot.
I've seen the pics of WAM's of course.....and obviously a normal Cent, but I need both side by side in one spot !

Also, could someone list the years of the WAM's so that I can begin to seperate those. (got two and a half boxes to go through)

eaglefoot I do not have pictures of these however on the Lincoln Cent Resource website under Wide AM they have side by side pictures of WAMs and CAMs the CAM is the normal reverse for 93 to 08.

Known circulating WAM dates 1998, 1999, 2000
CAM date 1992 1992D

Possibilities
1993 1993D WAM (would have had to be an old 1992 die as both proof and circ coins this year were CAM reverse)
1994 to 1996 P+D WAM
1997 to 2008 P WAM

Hope this helps

Okay, so if they touch (a&m), in those years....it's normal....if there's any gap whatsoever, it's a Wide AM, correct ?

eaglefoot, there can be a small gap with a Close AM if the die is worn.Alway check the secondary marker...the FG will be very close to the capitol on a Wide AM. Just remember the M is actually centered between A and E on a Wide AM too.

eaglefoot Look at the "G" on Maineman's pics for RDV-6 and RDV-7. That is a dead giveaway, RDV-6 has serifs RDV-7 doesn't. After looking at several hundred this attribute gets stuck in your head and the searching goes quicker
