I have done a few google searchs and such, but I am at a loss for any details on any coins shows in my area. I live close to the KC, MO area. Does anyone know decent shows or a way to look them up in my area?

I found the following website: coinshows.com
Scroll towards the bottom and click on the appropriate state.

This comes up rather frequently and I wish there was a place for standard questions such as this one. The problem with coin show listings is they are really inconsistant on the same ones and also from one listing to the next one. A long time ago I used to just go to Google or Yahoo and type in coin shows and my state. Then I found I was missing about 1/3 of all the shows in my area. So I tried CoinWorld, Numismatic Magazine, coinshows.com and many others. All are inconsistant and incomplete I found. For example in most of them the same one is missing almost all the time by me and oddly enough that one is fairly large of about 100 dealers. At times I would call a coin store that I knew had representatives at coin shows and would ask them if there are any not listed. Quote: THOUSANDS OF REGULAR VIEWERS AT THIS WEBSITE ARE HUNGRY FOR INFORMATION ON YOUR UPCOMING COIN SHOWS. If your Coin Show is not listed, Click here to e-mail ...
Note that even on the main page of coin shows in Google, one right on top says that knowing full well many are missing. It's a mess and mostly due to the fact that many coin shows are put on by the same people or organizations. Those are fairly consistant in many of the listings but again, not all. Some smaller ones do not get listed ever due to no one contacts the listers of that show. If you go to most coin show listings you would see a note about unless they are contacted by the individuals putting on the shows, none are listed for that show. Such is the case with many coin shows put on by local coin clubs. They just don't contact everyone that produces a list. Sorry to drag this out since it really doesn't help to complain. For you I suggest you not only try Google but also Yahoo. And not only coin shows but coin clubs and contact them and ask if they have any shows. If there is a coin store near you, also ask them since in many areas the coin stores are represented at coin shows. Also, if you know of any on line dealers in your area try them too. As I said if I went by all those listings I would miss about 1/3 of all the shows in my area.

One thing you may want to do is as you find coin shows, write down their names, phone numbers, addresses, etc. Also, contact them as to the frequency of their shows. Do as I do and make your own such coin show listing. As I noted by me there is a coin show for sure on all four Sundays in March yet only one is shown on most lists.

Quote:Posted Today 1 Hr 10 Min ago If you live in California this is the site I look to... http://www.sanjosecoinclub.org/Area...eaShows.html As I mentioned you may want to try seversal different coin show web sites and if you start to find discrepancies, that is the time to start your own list. Imagine if you too were to find out your missing 1/3 of all the shows in your area.

Also, look for a table with pamphlets on it, usually near the front entrance. It should have fliers for other coin shows that are within a reasonable distance from your present location. There should also be one for the next date of the show at the current venue.

Scroll towards the bottom and click on the appropriate state. And if your in my state you would miss about 1/2 to 1/3 of all coin shows. This is common in almost all states since it is up to the individuals running the shows to notify everyone about those shows.
