Hi, I'm just getting back into the coins I collected over the years. If I have the silver State Quarter proof sets, is there a minimum I can expect them to grade at or is there more variables to it and the answer is it all depends. My sets have been stored for years in an airtight container and are still beautifully white.

thanks for the help

I will let the experts give you a better answer, but while you wait...
I would say most of the proofs in those sets will grade out around 67-69. Of course it would depend on each individual coin, but I would see no reason the majority of those proof set coins wouldn't grade out in the very high 60s with the modern proof techniques used nowadays.

I agree, Most proofs grade in the 67-69. Proof sets usually grade higher than mint sets as well. I've heard the Abe Presidential dollar is a really tough design to find in a PR-69 or PR-70...

For proofs in original packaging that exhibit no obvious issues (i.e. surfaces are still mirrored, any toning is attractive), expect your average grade to be about PF-68.

Not sure how great those will do as investment from what I have seen recent mint packaged proof sets tend to depreciate in value. Everyone wants the PCGS PF-70 DMPL coins but, it seems, nothing else.
